Esthetics Spa

An esthetics spa is one where you will find a licensed esthetician. If you are unfamiliar with this term, an esthetician is a professional skin care specialist who has passed a state board exam and completed comprehensive training as required by state regulations. You can trust your skin is in good hands when you get treatments from an esthetician. They can do facials, waxing and various other treatments found at spas and salons. Some may specialize in a certain area. For example some estheticians are expert facialists while others are waxing pros. Many offer a variety of services.

No matter what kind of skin you have or what your particular skin care issues are, an esthetician can analyze your skin and decide what the best course of action would be. They use professional quality products and techniques designed for your individual skin type and problems you are having if any. Some people get facials to moisturize parched skin or look younger. Others need help with blemishes and breakouts. Still others have great skin but enjoy the luxury of a leisurely facial. Of course there are clients who come for the waxing, which can be surprisingly painless when done by a pro.

Some estheticians can do body wraps, massages, aromatherapy and more. It all depends on whether or not they have studied these areas. Skin care and waxing are standard when it comes to basic esthetics education. However these professionals can continue their education and gain the qualifications necessary to do other services and treatments. These estheticians are called master estheticians because they have successfully completed a rigorous master class. Master classes are often twice the duration of the basic beginner course.

If you would like to work at an esthetics spa, the first step is to find out the requirements in your state. The website for your state board of cosmetology should list how many hours of training you will need. Then you will need to find an accredited school and begin your training. Once you've done that the final step is taking the state exam. If you pass you can begin working as an esthetician, although you may want to continue on to the master class as mentioned previously. There are certainly plenty of opportunities in this particular career field.
