Nurse Esthetician

One of the most promising job fields out there is esthetics. If you enjoy helping people look and feel good and want to work in a medical setting, consider becoming a nurse esthetician. This job combines the duties of a nurse with the duties of an esthetician. These professionals can be found working for plastic surgeons and dermatologists. They can do everything a licensed esthetician can do and then some because of their medical training. Medical training can be very important especially when dealing with certain conditions or administering certain treatments.

In this career field you might do injectable fillers like Botox or Restylane. You might also handle things like laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, chemical peels and other procedures that call for someone with medical experience. If your clients have side effects or discomfort from any of their procedures you could advise them on the right course of action. There are plenty of benefits to becoming an esthetician and a nurse, including more job opportunities. When you are licensed to practice both nursing and esthetics you have the choice of working in the medical field, the beauty field or at a medical spa that combines both.

While you can study for both your nursing license and your esthetician license at the same time, many students do one at a time. You might start off as a nurse and decide to pursue your esthetics education. Or, you may begin your career in esthetics and decide to expand your skills by becoming a nurse. Either way you've got two lucrative career fields that can be combined into the ideal job. The first step is to do plenty of research and figure out your preferred career path. Do you want to study nursing first, esthetics first or both at once?

You may want to consult with a career or educational advisor if you want to be a nurse esthetician. They can help you plan the best map to success based on your individual situation and goals. It is important to find the right school and make sure it is properly accredited and offers what you need. Most schools have admissions advisors who can help prospective and new students by counseling them and answering their questions about the school, its programs and the admissions process.
